Balusters are a balustrade that usually appears around stairs or balconies that prevent accidents. There are a variety of handrails that are mostly dependent on the material from which they are created. Before creating a handrail, it is ideal to get to know your choices before deciding about what type.
The earliest examples of handrails come from ancient reliefs, or frescoes dating back to the 13th and 7th centuries BC. In portraying the Assyrian palaces, the balustrades can be seen lining the windows. Interestingly, they do not appear during the Greek and Roman architectural times (there are, at least, no ruins to prove their existence), but they reappeared in the late 15th century when they were used in Italian palaces. Today used in a wide range of shapes and materials, from simple wooden posts or wrought iron or stone or glass or steel, for decorative and practical purposes alike.
